It’s about that time of the year where everyone starts itching for warmer weather, longer days, and a vacation. I really try not to take any vacation days at the beginning of the year. I try my hardest to save the majority of them for the summer, or for long travel trips. I’m a vacation person – I love exploring new places and taking in all the views. Specifically, I’m a beach person. I love the city too, don’t get me wrong, but there is just something so relaxing and exciting about the beach that I crave every year.
Another thing I love is interior decorating. Honestly, it only makes sense why a ‘beach’ theme would be perfect for a home. Beaches are so calm and serene, just like you would want your home to be. The ocean always reminds me of sunshine, summer, vacation, friends, and a good time – all things I would want my home to encompass.
In order to stick with the theme, each item has to be subtle, but have an ‘ocean’ vibe to it. If you can’t picture the item on the beach, it’s probably not fitting in with this theme. If you look at each item in this collage, they all fit together really well because they stick with the neutral base, but then have pops of exchangeable color throughout. Because we’re sticking with the ocean theme here, I picked blue as the color. It’s super easy to throw in various colors of blue and still stick with this theme, too! I added in some straw or wood pieces to mix up the texture element and bring out the ‘outdoorsy’ feel.
Do you guys have any vacation plans coming up? I’ll be headed to Australia at the end of May, and I seriously cannot wait! It might be a bit too cold to swim, but hopefully, we’ll be able to soak up that Australian sun as long as we’re there!
There are a ton of different pieces that could go with this beach theme, so I’ve linked a few more items below for Y’all!
