Guys – I’ve been an Amazon junkie lately. I mooched onto my best friend’s Amazon account and I swear I order more than she does. It’s a great place to find new things, a lot of which you didn’t know you need. Although they might not be ‘needs’, there are a few tech products that make life better I’ve purchased lately that I surely don’t want to live without.
Most of my purchases were from Amazon or Walmart, but some were from other retailers. The ideas typically spur on Amazon or from other friend’s recommendations, then I take to the world wide web to do a bit more research. Ya girl likes to make sure she’s getting the best deal, and purchasing products with good reviews. So, without further ado, let’s get to it.
Nursul Back & Shoulder Massager
This massager is a game changer. Not to mention, it’s a steal at $50. When I told my friend I needed photos with this bad boy she couldn’t stop laughing. ‘Marie, this is by far the weirdest thing you’ve asked me to take pictures of, and you do some weird shit’. I told her she could laugh all she wanted, but once she tried it, she would understand why I needed to share it all with you.
I work at a desk all day long and carry all stress in my neck & shoulders. Not to mention, I also have back problems. I actually have a monthly massage membership (that changed my life too). But every time I go in, they tell me I’m so tense I should come in more often. Now normally I take that statement with a grain of salt, but I know they’re right. I use this thing probably 3-4 times a week. When I go out of town and my parents are watching Bosley, they request to pick up the massager. My roommate and boyfriend use it pretty regularly too!
The nice thing about this massager is that you can move it whenever you need to. You slide your arms or hands through the pockets that hang down to hold it on your back or neck. You can move it down to your shoulders, mid back, lower back, or keep it on your neck & shoulders. Really, it will work wherever you need it to. It’s got a setting for heat, vibrate, and 3 different strengths as well.
Really contemplating taking this one into the office to use every day. What do y’all think?
CariPRO Electric Toothbrush
I’ve been using a regular toothbrush for years. Typically I get a new one in my stocking each year. I ordered an electric toothbrush a while back and used it for a while, but it only had one setting and didn’t really feel like I noticed a difference. I had heard of a few other brands but figured I’d do my research again.
The Sonic Burst has 35K vibrations and only 3 settings. A Sonicare has 31K vibrations and a 3-week battery life. The quip, although super aesthetically pleasing, comes with batteries instead of a plug, 15K vibrations, they request for you to replace the heads every 3 weeks, and doesn’t say anything about additional settings.
I came across the CariPRO electric toothbrush and loved all of the features. It has 5 different brush modes: Clean, White, Massage, Gum Care, and Sensitive. Immediately tried out the whitening setting, and I’m not kidding when I say I saw a difference. Plus, my teeth just felt so clean after – like I had gone to the dentist! It’s got 40K vibrations, which is way more than any of the other popular electric toothbrushes out there. It’s waterproof, the charge lasts for 30 days, and has a 2-year warranty.
The CariPRO claims to remove up to 7x more plaque than a manual toothbrush, improve gum health, and provide 2x whiter teeth after a week (I can attest to that)! It was super convenient timing that I had a dentist appointment the week after I got it so I was able to ask my dentist’s thoughts. He mentioned my teeth and gums looked great and based on my cleaning, recommended the toothbrush. A quick tip – when brushing the inside of your bottom teeth, instead of brushing in a side to side motion, brush up and down with the tip of the brush. Straight from the dentist people. If you want to learn more, check out their FAQ.
CariPRO was super generous and offered to host a giveaway with me for one of their toothbrushes. To enter the giveaway, click here then follow me on Instagram! The giveaway will end on Tuesday, February 26.

Okay, when I found out about smart plugs I didn’t know how I hadn’t heard of them before. I saw my friend take a snap of her Christmas tree turning on and off from her phone and knew I had to try these out. I ordered the Teckin Smart Outlets because it came in a four pack and were highly reviewed. They were perfect for Christmas lights so that we could keep them on a timer and not have to climb under the tree or walk outside every time we needed to turn the lights off.
After Christmas, I moved the plugs to our entryway lamp, living room lamps, and my bedroom lamp. When you get the plugs, you download the Smart Home app, then connect your plugs via Bluetooth. From here, the app shows you all of the other tech products you can connect – again, blowing my mind. You can turn the plugs on and off from your phone, and set up multiple schedules.
I have mine set up to turn on in the living room in the morning so it’s not pitch black when I’m getting ready in the morning. Then they turn back on just before I get home from work, so I don’t have to walk home to a dark home. Another great part of the timer is that it helps reduce your electricity- no more leaving lights on. And, if you forget, you can easily turn it off from your phone anywhere you are!
It all started with Float Fest. Floating the river isn’t nearly as fun without music. When we went, our friends brought their JBL Flip 4 Speaker for floating. It’s waterproof and was actually super loud. We even had other tubers grabbing onto our tubes to float along with us to bum the sounds.
A group of my friends when back to float the river about a month later, but without the speaker, and it was a mini fail. We tried to bring a speaker that’s normally super loud at home and ‘waterproof it’, but it wasn’t very loud on the river and was a hassle trying to make sure it didn’t get wet. I asked for this bad boy for Christmas and love how sleek and lightweight it is. I’ve noticed that in each room I bring it to, it’s like the same volume changes to fill that room.
Revlon One-Step Hairdryer & Volumizer
I’m talking instant blow-out here. The Revlon One-Step Hairdryer is my newest beauty obsession. I was skeptical at first because I could have sworn I tried something like this out a few years back. On a wine-filled night, I decided to make the purchase and try it out. Y’all this thing truly is a tech product that makes your life better.
I’ve never had the patience to blow out my hair. I’m pretty coordinated, but something about using a round brush, twisting it underneath, and using the hairdryer at the same time gets me all mixed up. This Revlon Hairdryer is fairly lightweight and allows you to easily twist while the air blows through the center. It’s got a low, high, and cool setting, just like a normal hairdryer.
After using it for about a week, a new realization hit me that made me even more excited about it. It’s going to be SO easy to travel now. No need to pack a hairbrush and a blow dryer, just pack this guy. It will take up less space and you’ll be able to perfectly style your hair every time.
I’m heading out on a trip this weekend and next, so I’ll be sure to report back. Looking for travel content? check out my travel page – more to come soon! Before you head on out, be sure to check out my post just before this one – all about 2019 resolutions + 2018 reflection!
