HALLELUJAH – I’ve finally moved in! This process has seriously been such a journey. It may have made me a little crazy, but looking back it was also fun! I got to see this townhouse built from the dirt up and it’s such a beautiful thing. I’ve made friends with the workers, and of course, thanked them a thousand times. Plus I’ve already met most of my neighbors, who have been so helpful and nice.
I do want to start by saying I totally recognize that today is Friday, but this little lady does not have the internet – so please forgive me for my tardiness on this post!
My roommate still hasn’t moved in yet and we’re still missing some things – like the internet of course and our couch #wheredoisit? But both the dining room table and our washer and dryer have been delivered. Plus we were able to put together our dining chairs. So everything is coming along nicely!
Unfortunately, when we were moving in we hit a snag with our stairs. Our stairs are narrow, so narrow that we knew it was going to be a problem. Unfortunately, our stairs passed code before we moved in so the sellers said it would have to do. We said okay and moved forward – until now. We were able to get my love seat, mattress, and box spring from the first floor to the second. But, there was no way to get the big furniture up to the bedrooms on the third floor. The furniture kept getting caught on the curve of the stairs. So, the boxspring and love seat both ended up wedged against the wall.
Luckily, this all happened on a Saturday so we were able to catch the project manager and a few workers to help. Within 1 hour, they started chipping away at the wall on the stairs. We were able to break into the pantry to make the curve up the stairs a little wider. We haven’t closed the hole back up because we needed to finish moving. So right now I have a giant hole in the wall… please excuse my iPhone 5s quality photos, but here it is:
On top of the hole in the wall, we actually had to take out our laundry room door as well. Next week the builders are coming to switch the direction of the door, so it will actually pull out – very excited about that! Plus we’re still missing a wine fridge and a set of door handles, but all livable missing things!
Now, since I didn’t show you guys last time, I wanted to show you the final construction of the master bedroom and bathroom! This is the place i’m now calling home 🙂 I can’t wait to share more about decor ideas and even a mock up of our living room next week for Townhouse Thursday!
Check out some of the furniture I’ll be including below:
I’ve been crazy about staying organized in this bathroom, so check out some of the décor I’m planning on adding and how I’m staying organized!
