Staying in touch with my mind and body has been a goal of mine for this year. Along with finding a church, saying ‘yes’ more, staying positive, and keeping up with my workouts. I’m pleased to say I’ve stuck on track for each of these things.
Since I’ve been more in check with my mind, body, and spiritual side a bit more, I’ve noticed myself looking for the purpose in things. It’s easy to get caught up in why you are in a certain stage of life, or for something to go wrong. However, it’s so much more satisfying to look for the purpose.
A failed friendship, a relationship that fizzled out, a promotion that you didn’t get. Think about why they didn’t work, then think about what you gained from those relationships. Maybe that relationship taught you all about how you should be treated by a man. That friend helped you get your dream job, etc. I strongly believe there is a reason for every interaction and every path we cross.
After finding the purpose, you might get stuck on what you feel is the ‘in between’. Like, okay well now I’m single, or now I don’t have a lot of friends but guess what – if it’s not good, it’s not done. Instead of looking at where you are in life as an ‘in between’, look at it as a jumping board. I’ve talked to so many friends that are sad because they are single, don’t have their dream job, aren’t living in the city they want to be in, etc. Life is all about perspective – look for the purpose and you’ll find happiness.
If you’re single – you have the time to travel, meet new people, develop into an independent person, stronger than before. If you don’t have a lot of friends, you have to learn to be happy on your own and build up your confidence. There are so many skills to learn in these different life stages that will set you up to be a better version of yourself.
If you’re not sure what the purpose is in where you are in life right now, just ask. You have to put your thoughts out into the universe in order to get them answered. It’s crazy how I can pray for an answer, and a sign shows up right in front of my face! What’s even crazier is that I’m sure I’ve missed so many signs in my life because I wasn’t looking for them. If you don’t ask and aren’t looking for a sign, you won’t find one. Once you start looking, you’ll see that they’ve been all around you screaming in your face for so long. If it’s meant to be, a sign will show you the way.
